POLICY UPDATES - KSB SCHOOL LAW

Annually, KSB School Law provides the school district with policy updates. These updates come as a result of recently passed legislation or for clarification purposes. The following policies are being considered for updates:

SUMMER PROJECTS & FACILITY PLAN

Superintendent Eldridge provided the board with an update on the summer projects. Projects moving forward for this summer are: 2nd & 3rd - grade classroom - Brainard renovation, Biology Classroom, Madison Street Drainage - Brainard. A majority of these are part of the district's five-year facility plan. You can reference that plan in the link below:

Superintendent Eldridge gave the board an overview of the recently completed legislative session. The list of bills that Mr. Eldridge shared can be found in the link below.

Legislative Update

BOARD WORK SESSION

The East Butler Public School Board annually conducts a work session focusing on a specific topic. Topics that are being considered are:

  • Budget planning

  • Facility Assessment and Master Planning

The school baord felt that both topics were relevant for this year's work session. The work session will take place on July 28th at 6:30 pm.

BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (TIGER KIDS CLUB)

Elementary Principal Biltoft shared information with the school board regarding the Before & After School Program from the 2024-2025 school year. This information can be referenced below:

The school board moved to approve the edit of policies 3004 and 3007.

MOTION PASSED: 5-0

PURCHASE OF INTERACTIVE PANELS

The school board considered purchasing three interactive panels from KCAV for a total of $9,727.99. These panels will be placed in the 2nd, 3rd, and music classrooms in Brainard.

The school board moved to accept the quote from KCAV for purchasing three interactive panels for $9,727.99.
