Present: Megan Kozisek, Ryan Pekarek, Laurie Smaus, Brandon Jisa, Dylan Spatz, Sarah Strizek

DISCUSSION/INFORMATIONAL ITEMS

FACILITY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT & SUMMER WORK UPDATE

Superintendent Eldridge provided an update regarding the potential facility enhancement project. The following information was shared:

- The Building & Transportation Committee will be meeting with Boyd Jones & BCDM on March 17th for the Design Budget Review.

- The Building & Transportation Committee will be meeting with Boyd Jones & BCDM on April 7th to look over the early bid package.

Superintendent Eldridge also shared that the early bid package went out for bid on March 12th. Bids will be due on March 31st, and the board will consider those bids at the special board meeting on April 15th.

LEGISLATION UPDATE

Superintendent Eldridge provided an update to the board on current pieces of legislation that require the districts attention. Some legislation may have a positive or negative impact on the school district. Additionally, the legislative advocacy committee attended the recent Legislative Issues Conference in Lincoln. Below is a link to the information that Superintendent Eldridge shared with the school board.

Extra-Curricular Sponsors 2026-2027

Superintendent Eldridge shared with the board the current list of extra-curricular sponsors for the 2026-2027 school year. Currently there are a few positions that have not been filled:

POLICY REVISIONS

The school board reviewed the following policies at the March Board Meeting.

4038 - Classified Staff Defined
4039 - Employment of Classified Staff
4041 - Staff Dress and Appearance
4042 - Employee Social Security Numbers
4043 - Professional Boundaries Between Employees and Students
4044 - Staff Election Conduct
4045 - Milk Expression
4046 - Internet Searches Regarding Potential Employees

No action was taken, as no revisions were needed.

ESU 7 LANMAN PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

The school district contracts with ESU 7 for the purposes of providing technology support. Currently the district contracts fr two days a week. It is recommended that the district continues with this format.

The school board moved to approve the LanMan Partnership agreement for the 2026-2027 school year, which consists of two days a week.

2026 MOWING BIDS

Annually the school board considers mowing bids for the school district. The school district received two bids for the mowing this year.

Buresh Lawn Care Service - $500/mowing

Kriegler Lawn & Landscape - $400/mowing

The school board moved to accept the mowing bid from Buresh Lawn Care.

MOTION PASSED: 6-0 (Kozisek - Aye, Pekarek - Aye, Strizek - Aye, Smaus - Aye, Spatz - Aye, Jisa - Aye)

CLASSIFED STAFF COMPENSATION

The school board moved to enter into closed session at 10:04 AM for the purpose of discussing classified staff compensation to protect the financial interest of the district. The board limited themselves to discussing this topic.

MOTION PASSED: 6-0 (The board exited closed session at 10:48 AM)

The school board moved to increase classified staff compensation by 4%, set paraprofessional substitute pay at $120/day, and teaching substituted pay at $170/day - $185/day long term.

TECHNOLOGY PURCHASE

Superintendent Eldridge provided the school board with options on new laptop, iPad, and Interactive panels for the boards consideration. The school board discussed each of the items, it was recommended by Superintendent Eldridge that the district wait on purchasing the new laptops, but proceed with purchasing the iPads and the interactive panels for the elementary classrooms.

The school board moved to approved the quote from Apple, Inc. on the purchase of 25 new iPads ($8,225), and the quote from KCAV for the purchase of 11 new interactive panels ($29,551.58) for the elementary classrooms.

BOYD JONES CONTRACT

Superintendent Eldridge provided the contract with Boyd Jones to the school board. This contract has been reviewed by the school district's attorney. This contract does not commit the district to the project, rather it commits the district to the pre-construction costs ($10,000)

The school board moved to approve the contract with Boyd Jones and authorizing the Superintendent and/or Board President the authorization to sign the contract on behalf of the district.
