FACILITY ASSESSMENT & MASTER PLANNING
A representative from BCDM Architects attended the meeting to provide an update regarding the current facility assessment and the beginning steps in developing the school district's master plan.
SUMMER PROJECTS & FACILITY PLAN
Superintendent Eldridge provided the board with an update on the summer projects. Projects moving forward for this summer are: 2nd & 3rd - grade classroom - Brainard renovation, Biology Classroom, Madison Street Drainage - Brainard. A majority of these are part of the district's five-year facility plan. You can reference that plan in the link below:
LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
Superintendent Eldridge provided the board with a detailed overview of current legislation being discussed that may impact the East Butler Public School District. The list of bills that Mr. Eldridge shared can be found in the link below.

The school board reviewed the following policies at the March Board Meeting.

3003 - Bidding for Construction, remodel, and site improvement

3004 - General Purchasing and Procurement
3004.1 - Fiscal Management for Purchasing and Procurement Using Federal Funds

3008 - Gifts, Grants, and Bequests
The school board moved to approve the review of policies 3001, 3002, 3003, 3003.1, 3004.1, 3005, and 3008. (Policies 3004 and 3007 will be considered at the June board meeting.)
MOTION PASSED: 6-0
JEO CONSULTING GROUP AMENDMENT
The school board considered the amendment to the agreement with JEO Consulting Group for the Madison Street Drainage project. The proposed amendment would include construction observation of the project.
The school board moved to accept the amended agreement with JEO Consulting Group.

CRITICAL RESPONSE GROUP QUOTE
Superintendent Eldridge presented a quote from The Critical Response Group, a company specializing in building mapping. The company will utilize current drawings of each building and turn them into a digital map of our schools. This will aid law enforcement and first responders in the event of a situation in our schools. The East Butler School District received a safety grant to cover the cost of this project. The grant awarded was for $9,119.

APPLIANCE BIDS
Superintendent Eldridge shared the bids that were received for the appliances at 203 S Madison Street in Brainard.
The school board moved to accept the higher bid for each item.
